A Story About Pickles

A Story About A Pickle
This illustration is about a moment in my childhood... well, more so about a food associated with a distinct memory. The pickle. Once sometime in the elementary school years my family and I went on a trip to visit Seattle, WA. We had gone digging for clams and other shellfish at the nearby beach and I was wearing the wrong footwear. A little third grader wearing jelly flip flops digging for clams! And yes... the tide swept them away from my little feet and left them to be exposed and cut up on the bottom of both feet. Little to say, I was not able to walk for the rest of the trip. The next day, everyone went  hiking to see a waterfall so I was left in the car with the company of my grandma (and a jar of pickles). When everyone had finally returned to the vehicle, there I was... sitting with an empty jar of pickles and pickle juice. From that day on... it became history.
