This is a drawing I did after I took a little trip down to the Sunken City in San Pedro, CA. It is definitely a place worth going to explore. For a place that was once a landslide, I was not expecting it to be anything more than a landfill area. In a sense, it kind of is. The once-used-to-be roads and sidewalks are now canvases for graffiti and provide for nooks and crannies for trash to hide. As I walk and explore the area, it is so surprising to find how peaceful and beautiful this area of destruction is. Its interesting to me how a place that may not be anything but decay can also be a place of tranquility and beauty.
